The Giropes team had the opportunity to work on Peralada Vins i Caves' latest iconic project, the new Perelada Winery, designed by RCR to produce outstanding wines. Perelada Group, a company with around 100 years of history devoted to the production and marketing of wines and cava, has recently opened a new winery aimed at bringing even more enhancements to the quality of its wines and boost the reputation of this denomination of origin both nationally and internationally. Their new winery, inaugurated in May 2022, has become the first in Europe to obtain LEED® Gold certification, which recognizes the high levels of energy eco-efficiency and sustainability of its facilities. Giropes’ participation in this project included the installation of a weighbridge model BPCTH, embedded next to a GI430 indicator. The color of the concrete of the scale used for weighing the tractors and trucks is a unique feature of this installation. A color matching the surrounding pavement was chosen to integrate the weighing element into the Perelada Group's facilities. Thanks to the installation of the embedded BPCTH scale, the company can weigh tractors and the trailers which contain the grapes harvested in the vineyard before transferring them to the winery for subsequent processing. Once the tractor is unloaded, it is weighed again to confirm the load based on the difference. All this is reflected in the ticket issued by the GI430 weight indicator as well as the incoming and outgoing goods registered by the scale. These facilities have required an investment of over €40M by Perelada Group. The quality of its facilities and the integrated elements will allow the company to increase their production processes, while also initiating ecotourism activities in an attractive location designed for the enjoyment of visitors.
