Weighbridges

Giropès can assess you about the different steps you must follow so that your project as well as your weighbridge choice, be that for trucks, vans, trains, containers or other elements and big volume vehicles, is the correct one.

Truck scale

The different uses of weighbridges and their lifespan make how you choose them crucial. For this reason, we have different finishes and installations to better adapt to the needs of each client.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • What do we mean when we talk about testing in the maintenance of a weighbridge?

Action to perform a weight check with known masses or weight and from which no action is taken on the current adjustment without issuing a certificate.
  • What do we mean when we talk about adjustment in the maintenance of a weighbridge?

Action to perform a weight adjustment with known masses or weight, from which the current adjustment is modified and from which no readings are taken to issue any type of certificate.
  • What do we mean when we talk about calibration in the maintenance of a weighbridge?

Action to carry out, with masses, a data collection of readings at different points within the working range.

It is necessary to specify the values before and after adjustment. NO ADJUSTMENT IS NECESSARY.

An ISO type certificate or calibration letter is derived or, increasingly, certified by ENAC. This is in line with the client's quality procedure requirements.

This certificate contains a maximum number of error values stipulated by the regulations. This does not mean that they are not acceptable to the client, as the client ultimately decides on which errors are acceptable. These are specified in the client’s quality procedure.
  • What is primitive verification or EC?

Action to be carried out by an approved body (e.g. Giropes), with a model approval (cells and display, with an assembly model) and with masses, taking data from readings at different points within the working range. Specify the values after adjustment.

AN ADJUSTMENT MUST BE MADE from which an EC type-examination certificate is derived. This is valid for 2 years (many companies do this every year to avoid mistakes and make sure they have everything correct. You can always be more restrictive than the norm).

In this certificate we have a maximum error value, which is half of that stipulated by the regulations. (0-500div to 0.5 E, 500-2000 to 1e and 2000-3000div to 1.5e). These values (data collection) are NOT delivered. If you want to collect data, it must be accompanied by an ISO or ENAC certificate.

    * The primitive verification is the first verification of the machine or assembly. When there is a change of any element of the assembly (that changes its approval), the verification can be considered primitive. When it's no longer the first verification, it becomes periodic.
  • What is periodic verification?

Action to be carried out by an official body for data collection, involving readings with masses at different points within the working range. Specify the values after adjustment. No adjustment will be necessary. A EC type certificate is derived from these.

This is valid for 2 years. (Some companies do this every year to avoid making mistakes and make sure they have everything right. You can always be more restrictive than the norm).

This certificate gives us maximum error values, which are stipulated by the regulations. (0-500div to 1e, 500-2000 to 2e and 2000-3000div to 3e). These values (data collection) are NOT delivered. If you want to collect data, it must be accompanied by an ISO or ENAC certificate.
  • What is the unitary EC?

Action to perform EC or primitive verification by an approved body without a model approval (of approved equipment, but without an assembly model).
