Established in 1993, the Consorcio Provincial de Residuos Sólidos Urbanos de Málaga was created with the objective of managing the waste generated in the municipalities of Malaga, which today total 91 municipalities, or in other words, the waste generated by more than 550,000 citizens.

The consortium has 14,000 containers, divided between the different types of waste management: paper-cardboard, glass, light packaging and residual fraction, of which an average of 70,000 kilos is collected daily, divided between packaging, cardboard and glass. In addition, approximately 300,000 tons per year are sorted and recovered at the Valsequillo environmental complex.

Apart from contracting for the next 5 years our periodic maintenance service of scales and equipment, to help in the management of the large amount of waste they move, RSU Malaga has decided to rely on Giropes to recondition their devices, as well as on our specialized software in waste management and recycling plants Gesnet2, a software that optimizes the weighing process and provides total control during these operations, registering and processing quickly and efficiently the traffic on their weighbridges.

With specific functions for waste plants and adaptable to both single station systems and multiple installations with autonomous systems, the Gestnet software performs the function of the scale operator, allowing the management of waste through the European List of Wastes (LoW) coding and including the treatment/disposal code that each waste will receive.

The Provincial Consortium of RSU Malaga is in charge of the household collection with the municipalities that request it, and in order to carry out this management it has 4 transfer plants and an environmental complex distributed in different points of the geographical area of Malaga. In addition, the environmental complex has an Interpretation Center visited annually by more than 6,000 students from the province.

At Giropes we are very proud of the success of our software, and we are even prouder to see this success reflected in the satisfaction of our customers. We would like to thank the Consorcio Provincial de Residuos Sólidos Urbanos de Málaga for their trust and we hope to collaborate again soon.
