Installation and automation of a weighbridge on an oil platform

Giropes has completed the installation of a weighbridge on the Petroinstal SL oil platform in Ascó.

Petroinstal is a company dedicated to the design of oil facilities, the construction of petrol stations and service stations, and the legalisation, renovation and maintenance of fuel facilities.

For Petroinstal, technology and a competitive offer in the market are their main credentials to guarantee efficiency for its customers’ projects, both in their execution and in the cost and reliability of maintenance.

The weighbridge scale that Giropes installed in Ascó will enable Petroinstal to weigh its tankers when they leave the facilities, in order to control and confirm their weight.

The equipment installed was the BPPCE EVO model truck scale in a modular design, which is 18 x 3 metres in size and has a weighing capacity of up to 60T. The scale was installed on the floor with rolling guides to provide a safe view of the vehicle during use and concrete ramps to enable access.
Data will be recorded using the weighing software Gestruck Slim, one of our programs that enables users to control the weighing process with an intuitive interface and obtain the desired information as quickly and precisely as possible.

Gestruck Slim is the standard version of the Gestruck2 software, which can be used with up to two scales within one weighing area, offering vehicle weighing, static and dynamic weighing, net weight, system information management, manual weight input and other functions. Gestruck Slim quickly and efficiently records and processes the traffic when weighing.

Our Petroinstal installation enables users to fully control the passage of vehicles in the plant, controlling the entry and exit of the product to offer maximum efficiency and quality to their customers. The new weighing system installed by Giropes also allows weights to be controlled precisely, to ensure secure transport of a highly complex product.
