Installation of a weighing system for a limestone quarry
Giropes has installed a BPGSH mixed weighbridge (with metal base and concrete surface) in the Cales de Llierca limestone quarry, which is located in Sant Jaume de Llierca, in Girona.
Cales de Llierca is a company that was founded in 1969 on the site of a former lime factory. It has since evolved to become a leader in the lime treatment sector, and in the manufacture of Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC).
Due to its extensive experience supplying a wide variety of industrial sectors, Cales de Llierca may be one of the most experienced companies in the field of Lime and Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC). They transform limestone into a wide variety of products, for use in the agricultural and industrial sectors.
Cales de Llierca is not only responsible for extracting the raw material from the source, but it is also involved in R&D. This enables the company to treat all this aggregate material, so that it can then be used in many different sectors.
With the installation of the BPGSH weighbridge, the company will now be able to manage the extracted material with greater precision, and distribute it for all the different uses and manufacturing processes that are required.
Giropes’ commitment to carry out continuous R&D has enabled them to install a weighbridge that was ideal for the company’s needs. They also installed a table-top GI430 indicator that can be controlled from a cabin. The indicator is equipped with specific lorry weighing software, and a printer that can provide a complete record of the receipts and dispatches that have been carried out using the weighbridge.
