The sector in numbers
As a supplier of raw materials for the building of infrastructures, the sector of the aggregates generates the second leading raw material, more widely used by society, after water.
In 2012, it is estimated that 37.500 million tons of aggregates were produced, which accounts for an average consumption of 4.800 kg per inhabitant and year. In Spain alone, it is estimated that, in 2017, every person consumed about 2.300 kg of aggregates per year.
